Safety & Reporting
How we keep Hyke safe
Hyke is an event listing platform used by communes, associations, universities, venues, and residents. We enforce strict policies so every listing remains lawful, inclusive, and respectful.
Age requirements
Hyke hosts event listings from public institutions and private organizers. To keep the marketplace compliant:
- Event creators must be 18+ to publish on Hyke so they can be held legally responsible for their listings.
- Attendees may browse without an age limit, but each organizer must state and enforce the age rules applicable to their activity.
- Organizers must respect local laws covering alcohol service, adult content, photo consent, child protection, and other regulated topics.
- Accounts that misrepresent age or violate these rules are removed immediately.
Role of the platform
Hyke publishes listings created by third parties. We are not the host of the events—similar to Eventbrite or Meetup:
- Organizers are solely responsible for planning, staffing, insuring, and delivering their events safely.
- Hyke does not host, supervise, or endorse specific events. We provide discovery tools and messaging infrastructure only.
- Organizers must obtain every permit, license, and venue authorization required by their municipality or canton.
- By listing an event, you agree to indemnify Hyke against claims arising from that event.
Content moderation & escalation
We review submissions before publication and remove anything that is illegal, discriminatory, deceptive, or unsafe.
Enforcement follows Swiss, EU, and French online-safety obligations and guidance from trusted civic partners.
Detection tools
Every listing, update, and image is checked through moderation workflows, automated heuristics, and community reports.
We log actions, restrict offending accounts, and preserve evidence when authorities require it.
Reporting channels
Use in-app reporting or email safety@hykefresh.com with the event link, location, and the issue you observed. We acknowledge every report.
Life-threatening or criminal concerns are escalated to emergency services or relevant regulators.
When you spot a risk
Take these steps if you notice unsafe behaviour on Hyke or at a listed event:
- Stop sharing the content and document what happened.
- Notify the organizer and, if necessary, the venue owner or local authorities.
- If anyone is in immediate danger, call emergency services first.
- Report the incident to Hyke via the app or via safety@hykefresh.com.
Community vigilance keeps everyone safe.
