Child Safety Standards
HykeFresh Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 2026-10-18
These are the published child safety standards of HykeFresh, the events app published on Google Play and the App Store under the name HykeFresh. They bind everyone who uses the service — attendees, event organizers, partner organizations, venues and our own team — and they cover everything that appears on it: event listings, photos, profiles, display names, group conversations and Coach, our in-app AI companion.
HykeFresh has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). CSAE is prohibited on HykeFresh in every form, with no exception and no warning given. In this document, a child or a minor is anyone under 18 years of age.
Prohibited content and conduct
The following is explicitly prohibited on HykeFresh. It leads to immediate removal of the content, a permanent ban of the account, and a report to the competent authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): creating, uploading, storing, sharing, requesting or linking to any sexual content depicting a minor — including drawn, edited, computer-generated and AI-generated material.
- Sexualization of minors: any listing, image, description, profile, display name or message that presents a minor in a sexualized way or treats minors as objects of sexual interest.
- Grooming: contacting a minor, or building trust with a minor, for a sexual purpose — including steering a minor towards a private meeting, an unsupervised event, another platform or a messaging app for that purpose.
- Sextortion: threatening to publish intimate imagery of a minor, or using such imagery or threats to obtain money, further imagery, silence or compliance.
- Child trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of minors: advertising, arranging, requesting or paying for sexual contact with a minor.
- Normalizing or promoting CSAE: expressing a sexual interest in minors, or sharing advice, codewords, hashtags or links that help others find CSAE material or communities.
- Using HykeFresh to organize harm offline: using an event, a listing, a rendezvous or a group conversation to arrange, advertise or conceal any of the conduct above, whether it happens on HykeFresh or elsewhere.
These prohibitions bind our own product decisions too: HykeFresh does not build features, recommendations or Coach behaviour that would sexualize minors or help an adult reach a minor.
Who may use HykeFresh
HykeFresh is an adults' app for going out in real life. It is not a children's app and it is not a dating app.
- A HykeFresh account requires you to be 18 or older: sign-up asks for your date of birth and does not accept one that would make the account holder a minor.
- A 16- or 17-year-old may attend a listed event only if an adult (18+) books on their behalf and the organizer's own age rules allow it.
- Paying, buying a ticket or donating on HykeFresh requires you to be 18 or older.
- Creating or organizing an event requires you to be 20 or older, so that every organizer can be held legally responsible for their listing.
- An account we find to be held by a minor, or to misrepresent its holder's age, is removed.
- Organizers must state and enforce the age limit of their own event and comply with local child protection, alcohol, image-consent and supervision law. HykeFresh publishes listings; it does not host or supervise events.
How we prevent and detect CSAE
- Age gate at sign-up: the date-of-birth step offers no year that would make the account holder a minor, so the service starts as an adult space.
- One-tap reporting on every event: reasons are weighted by severity, and an event is hidden automatically as soon as reports cross the threshold — before anyone on our side has looked at it. The organizer is notified, and reporting is rate-limited so the tool itself cannot be abused.
- CSAE reports jump every other queue. Our trust & safety team handles them first, ahead of all other report types, and they are never closed by automation alone.
- The free text people choose for themselves — interests, topics, conversation openers — passes a filter that normalizes leetspeak and separators, so sexual, violent and abusive terms cannot slip through in disguise.
- Coach refuses outright whenever any signal suggests the person a user wants to approach may be a minor: it returns a plain notice instead of generating anything, a second filter screens its output for explicit sexual content, and that refusal is covered by red-team tests that run before every release.
- When we act on a CSAE report we preserve the content, the account and the related records as evidence for law enforcement instead of deleting them silently.
- We review these standards, and the measures behind them, at least once a year and whenever we ship a feature that changes how people reach one another.
How to report CSAE
In the app: open the event, tap Report, choose “Inappropriate content” or “Dangerous activity”, and describe what you saw.
By email, at any time, whether or not you use HykeFresh: safety@hykefresh.com — our designated child safety point of contact. Put CSAE in the subject line and we treat it as urgent.
If a child is in immediate danger, call the emergency services first — 117 or 112 in Switzerland and the EU, 000 in Australia — and then tell us.
Never download, forward or re-share suspected CSAM, not even to report it: in most countries that is itself an offence. Send us the link, the event or the profile instead.
You can also report to the authorities directly, independently of us:
- Switzerland — report anonymously to Child Protection Switzerland at clickandstop.ch, or contact your cantonal police.
- Internationally — the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.
If you are a young person who needs to talk to someone, Pro Juventute's helpline 147 is free, confidential and open around the clock in Switzerland.
What happens after a CSAE report
- We remove or hide the content immediately and suspend the account while we review it.
- Confirmed CSAE means a permanent ban for the person and for any organization account they control. We do not reinstate those accounts.
- We report confirmed CSAE to the competent authorities — fedpol and the cantonal police in Switzerland, the NCMEC CyberTipline where a case has a United States nexus — and we cooperate with their lawful requests.
- We tell the person who reported that their report was handled, as far as the law and the privacy of the people involved allow.
Legal compliance
HykeFresh complies with the child safety laws of the countries where the app is available, including Articles 187 and 197 of the Swiss Criminal Code, the Council of Europe's Lanzarote Convention, and the applicable EU and Australian child protection and reporting obligations. These standards are published to meet, among others, Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy, and they are the standards we hold ourselves to wherever a report comes from.
Child safety point of contact
The designated child safety point of contact for HykeFresh is safety@hykefresh.com. It is monitored by our trust & safety team, and it is the address we publish for reporters, regulators, law enforcement and child protection organizations.
The contact declared to Google Play for the HykeFresh developer account, CultivX Pty Ltd, is karel@cultivx.com.au. Either address reaches the people responsible for child safety at HykeFresh, so app stores, regulators and law enforcement may use whichever one they hold.
For legal process and formal requests, write to legal@hykefresh.com.
